Home Automation

Home-Automation

Home-Automation – is also called Smart Homes where all the home appliances are remotely control by the end users. Home Automation is not a new concept in the market because some features of automation already comes under luxurious Villa/Apartment where automation is limited to that apartment like Dimming Light, Revolving Table, and Curtain UP/Down through Remote control or through some GUI Interface. But through smart features in IOT anybody can control their appliances from anywhere with the help of Android Application. The popularity of home automation has been increasing greatly in recent years due to much higher affordability and simplicity through smartphone and tablet connectivity. The concept of the “Internet of Things” has tied in closely with the popularization of home automation.

Functionality – All the Home appliances (Light/Fan, Air conditioner, Water Gezer, Mirco-wave, Refrigerator and etc) are as of now connected through Electric Switches and switches are back to back connected with Internal Electrical Wiring/Circuit at Home. But in Smart Home Wireless Electrical Switches would be connected instead of being normal electric Switches and good part is that you do not need to replace or do any kind of changes in Internal Electrical Wiring means Internal Electrical Wiring would remain intact. Home or Office should have basic Internet connectivity with WiFi Device so that all the Wireless Electric Switches would connected to that Gateway Device.

IOT Stuff

Now end users required an App (Window /Android) which should have integration with Wireless Electrical Switches so that they can have control of all the Home Appliances on the move (all over the world) through Internet. In Today’s world many manufacturing companies have started developing wireless enable devices so that end users can have a control.

Features/Benefits – Life Style & Comfort is another driver that leads people to adopt technologies in various spheres of their life. It is believed that a simple mobile phone or a Smart Phone will be very close to everyone at all times. By providing all basic controls and information to a person will give him a better comfort and there by better life style. Requiring a minimal investment, end user can start saving energy and money with as little as a smart light bulb, allowing user to turn lights on and off from Smart phone. Turn your lights on before you get home, or automate your lights to turn on and off while traveling for additional home security. One of the most valuable home automation devices is the smart thermostat. Saving as much as 20% on your annual home energy use, the smart thermostat is easy to install and allows user to set the needed temperature without the system running for longer than needed. In addition to the convenience of smart bulbs and thermostats, you can delve into a wide variety of home automation devices for added security. From Wi-Fi enabled cameras to keep an eye on the inside or outside of your home, to motion sensors, smoke and CO2 warnings, smart locks and more – smart home security systems are a simple way to take care of your most valuable asset, your home.

Other great money saving smart home devices allow the user to control their sprinklers or turn the water heater on and off while away. The best news, all the devices we have talked about are no harder to install or require more time than the ‘dumb’ devices we currently use.

Different Types of Sensors:

Sensors are sophisticated devices that are frequently used to detect and respond to electrical or optical signals. A Sensor converts the physical parameter (for example:  temperature, blood pressure, humidity, speed, etc.) into a signal which can be measured electrically.

Now companies started making Wireless Sensors with the help of Wireless technologies like WiFi, Zigbee, and Bluetooth Low Energy so that end users can control the function. There are many sensors like – Motion Sensor, Door and Windows Sensor, Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Detector, LPG gas detection Sensor, Proximity Sensors and etc. In health Care Industry most of the peripherals using Bluetooth Low Energy as wireless protocol for communication. E.g- Weight Scale, Heart rate Monitor, Blood pressure Monitor, Fitness tracker and etc. So there are n no of sensors which can used for automation not only in Home but also in other sectors like Offices, Hospital, Clubs and many other and IOT Scope is VAST.

This is luxury, cream crowd, no competition.
